THE DAYCARE
The daycare provides a place for your dog to run and play with other dogs while being guided by staff in good manners and behaviors. Dogs are placed in groups according to their temperament. It is our desire that dogs are happy during their stay. This is especially important when owners need to board their dog. Since their dog is happy about coming here to play, having a slumber party just extends their fun, and gives owners the peace of mind that their pooch is sleeping comfortably at night. Staff continually assess the dogs to make sure they are comfortable and enjoy their stay.
Dogs may attend daycare any number of days. We recommend that you keep to the same schedule. When the dogs enter daycare, they go through a routine of establishing their ‘pack.' The fewer changes to the pack the less anxiety the dogs will feel, which means they can get to playing sooner. When dogs are bumped from one pack to another, they may experience more anxiety at returning to daycare than other dogs. The staff is particularly careful to watch for anxiety in dogs, as they assist in canine introductions.
Beginning Daycare: All dogs are assessed as to their ability to get along with humans and other dogs. How well they respond to humans and interact with dogs as a group are all part of the assessment.
Nap Time: After hours of socializing and playing, dogs appreciate a rest. Nap Time is daily from 12-2. No dogs can be dropped off or picked up during this time. The dogs are each put into a crate and given a treat while the lights are turned off and music plays softly.

Boarding:
Once a dog has begun attending daycare, and is comfortable with the environment, s/he is eligible for boarding. Boarding is only provided for our weekly daycare clients.
All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations. Owners must submit proof of DPP, rabies, as well as Canine Cough (Bordetella). Heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention are highly recommended but not required. Owners must show proof of updated vaccinations on a yearly basis. All dogs must be spayed or neutered and crate trained. It has been our experience that dogs that suffer from anxiety do not enjoy our daycare setting. Please consult your veterinarian if your dog suffers from anxiety.

WHAT TO BRING TO DAYCARE
Dog Food:
Since each dog has a different diet, we do not provide meals. Please bring your dog’s food in a sealed container with the dog’s name on it, the amount s/he eats, and as well as the how many meals a day. Be sure to let us know if your dog has any food allergies.

Small Treats:
The treats are given as a nap time snack.

Tub of Peanut Butter (not the kind that needs refrigeration):
At naptime, we give small treats with peanut butter to the dogs. Research has shown that this helps to calm dogs before they nap.

Leash:
The safety of dogs is so important to us that we must insist that dogs are always brought in and leave on a leash.

Prepare for Weather Conditions:
When there is inclement weather, we make the best of the situation by rotating the dogs in and out. We do not keep dogs crated all day. Feel free to bring a raincoat or jacket for your dog.
Of Special Note:
We cannot take dogs that are sick. If your dog is vomiting, coughing, or has diarrhea, or any other illness, please keep them home until they are back to normal. If your dog shows signs of sickness at daycare you will be called to them pick up. We do charge cleaning fees if your dog urinates, vomits, or has diarrhea inside.
